In moments of despair it is easy to question why God takes us through so much to get us to the place that we need to be. I mean let’s be honest, he is God, he could easily create a shortcut or chose the path of least resistance to achieve the same goal right? What is it in the process that he feels is necessary for us to experience?
It is fact that most natural diamonds are formed at high temperature and pressure. If God did not take us through the process of changing, stretching, and shifting, we would not be prepared for the space that he has created us for and is taking us to.
“Pure gold put in the fire comes out of it proved pure; genuine faith put through this suffering comes out proved genuine. When Jesus wraps this all up, it’s your faith, not your gold, that God will have on display as evidence of his victory.“1 Peter 1:7-17 MSG
So how do we P.U.S.H. through the pain of the process? The first thing that we must understand is the meaning of drive. The word drive is defined as “something that propels or carries along by force in a specified direction.” Being carried further by force means that no matter how we feel or how many times we want to quit, there is an innate strength that keeps us moving forward.
Knowing our PURPOSE will give us the drive needed to withstand any storm. It is the “why” in what we do. When we connect our purpose to our UNIQUE characteristics, SKILLS, and Spiritual Gifts, it sets us apart from everyone else. This gives us an understanding of why we are the only person qualified to accomplish God’s ultimate plan. This becomes the “how” in what we are called to do. Once we discover our PURPOSE, what makes us UNIQUE, our SKILLS, and SPIRITUAL GIFTS, we put them all together to HELP the people we have a Heart for. This is “to whom” we are called. Your personal cause within yourself. Your past experiences that allow you to personally relate to a certain person or group of people. When we discover who we are called to help, we now have the pieces of the puzzle needed to piece together our mission from God and it is knowing our mission that will continue to P.U.S.H. us toward our victory!
Growth requires pressure and pressure can be quite painful. Know that God is preparing us for the next level. Our mission is our calling and in that calling we find purpose. All though this does not make any of the pain we experience subside, it does make it ultimately worth it in the end!
