Sometimes waiting on God’s timing can be the hardest thing to do. We find ourselves constantly looking for a sign of the promise that he has given to us. The assignment that God has placed in our heart begins to look more difficult to accomplish than it originally did, and the uphill climb to our destiny begins.
Trusting God During Your Journey
This is when we must trust God and focus on building our faith. We must realize that the journey, although painful, is apart of God’s plan. It is in this process that he allows us to build the character, experience, and faith that we will need once we get to our promise land! The enemy loves our waiting period.
This is the time that we are at our weakest. It is a time when it becomes so easy to succumb to the pressure from those around us who do not believe in the things that we know God has for us. We become embarrassed because of what has not happened yet.
We begin to think that there is a possibility that we misunderstood exactly what it was that God told us to do. It is a time when doubt can become our best friend if we allow it. Oh how the enemy loves our waiting period! It can be our most vulnerable time for him to attack and derail God’s plan by making us give up.
Giving Up is Not an Option
When we are in pain it is our natural instinct to try and find a way to make it stop, but what do we do when the pain is attached to our promise? The pain of waiting on God’s timing can be so overwhelming it just seems easier to turn around and go back to the lives we had before he infiltrated our hearts.
This is where we must train our spiritual senses to take over. We must develop tunnel vision and focus only on our father to make it to where he wants us to go. It is important to submerge ourselves in his word in order to build our faith for the task at hand. God knows exactly who we are and he would not have given us the assignment if we were not the one created for the job.
He hears our prayers and he sees us struggle for understanding. It is within our struggles that he is building exactly what he needs to use in us for the good of his kingdom. So cling to God in this time of waiting. It is in him that we will find the encouragement and drive that we need to go on.
For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Habakkuk 2:3
